Parliamentary Group looking at UK Government communications surveillance plans

The All Party Parliamentary Group on Privacy, of which PI is the Secretariat, is meeting on July 1st to review the Government's plans for a 'Interception Modernisation Programme'.
The APPG on Privacy was established in March 2009.
The enquiry will take place on July 1st in Committee Room 15 of the House between 10.00 and 11.45.
The speakers will include:
- Tim Hayward, Director, Interception Modernisation Programme, Home Office
- Jim Gamble, Chief Executive, Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre
- Martin Hoskins, Head of Data Protection & Disclosure, T-Mobile UK
- Professor Peter Sommer, Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics and Political Science
- Dr Richard Clayton, Computing Laboratory, University of Cambridge
The Group's Briefing on the Interception Modernisation Programme analyses the Government's plans and highlights a number of legal and technological challenges.
